Compact Box Design
The Kodo Star measures 57mm long, 23mm wide, and 18.5mm thick, small enough to sit in a closed hand or disappear into a pocket or bag. The body is a lightweight, durable plastic, which keeps the overall weight down on a device meant to be carried rather than left on a table.
Full-Face Display
A display across the front of the device reports voltage, session time, and remaining battery level in real time. Most batteries this size give you an indicator light and leave the rest to guesswork. Having all three values visible is the clearest reason to pick the Star over the rest of the Kodo line.
Variable Voltage Control
Output adjusts from 1.8V to 4.2V in 0.1V increments. Lower settings preserve more of a cartridge’s flavor profile, while higher settings produce denser vapor. The range is deliberately bounded to keep the device within normal operating territory, so dialing it in is a matter of preference rather than trial and error. A 10-second preheat cycle is also included for thicker oils.
Simple Three-Button Operation
Everything runs off three buttons: firing, voltage up, and voltage down. There are no menus or button-press combinations to memorize, which makes the Star approachable for a first device while still giving experienced users the adjustment range they expect.
USB Type-C Charging
Charging runs over USB Type-C and takes approximately 0.8 hours to full, among the quicker charge times in this size class. Type-C is also the same connector most phones and tablets use, so a spare cable is rarely far away and there is nothing proprietary to pack when travelling.
Universal 510-Threaded Connection
The Kodo Star uses a standard 510-threaded connection, the most widely adopted cartridge format available, so it accepts the large majority of prefilled and refillable cartridges on the market. The threaded fitting also holds more securely than a magnetic connection, which matters on a device that spends its time in a pocket.
